The unpolluted air, the coastal national park and, until recently, Pembrokeshire’s remoteness has all helped to protect its flora and fauna.

The puffin is probably Pembrokeshire’s most popular bird, but the islands are shared by many shearwaters, gannets and the chough. Grey seals, otter and dolphins enjoy the clean seas. Rare orchids and many miles of Pembrokeshire banks covered in snowdrops and later in the year foxgloves and bluebells help attract high numbers of butterflies and migrant birds.
